Background of affiliation: In 1931 Kure naval arsenal dismissed many people because of the London Navy Reduction Treaty. As an unemployment countermeasure for those people, about 30 families settled in Nawa-mura.
Nawa-cho profile: Nawa-cho is a town located in the northwest section of Tottori Prefecture with a population of about 7,900 and an area of 45km 2.It is a beautiful town with Mt.Daisen to the south and the Sea of Japan to the north.In Nawa-cho,crops include apples and pears, and the fields of sod extends to the gentle hills at the foot of Mt.Daisen. Animal husbandry and fishing in the Sea of Japan are major industries. There are many historical places noted in connection with "Taiheiki" since it is where Emperor Godaigo landed when he escaped from Oki.
